The online shooter Fortnite is celebrating Christmas again in January. The in-game event “14 Days of Fortnite” returns next week. All 14 challenges will be active again for one week. Players can collect the 14 rewards.
This is the announcement: The event “14 Days of Fortnite” is coming “back next week”, Epic stated.
Epic does not specify an exact date, but it is assumed that it will start on Tuesday, January 8th, with the weekly update around 12:00 PM German time.
The event will take place until January 15 at 9:00 AM German time.
What happens this week? All 14 challenges will return. Players will need to complete individual tasks and will receive “Christmas” rewards directly.
Additionally, during this time, the “most popular limited-time modes” will return.
Is there a catch? Any progress players have made in individual challenges will be reset. So if someone has already destroyed 8 snowflake decorations, they will start again at 0 here.
Why is Epic doing this? An Epic employee said on reddit that players would have an extra day or two after the end of “14 Days of Fortnite” on January 2 to complete the event.
However, that was not the case, and the event ended on January 2 at 3:00 PM.
This angered some players who relied on having time after the holidays to complete the missing challenges.
Epic then assured everyone who participated in the event that they would receive a glider. But that was apparently not enough, and they are now extending the event.
This fits with the extremely accommodating policy that Epic follows: Whenever enough players complain, Epic usually gives in and fulfills their wishes.
What was the highlight of the rewards? The highlight was probably on day 7. Players received a gingerbread pet that can even dab. You should get this.
These are the challenges and rewards that will return soon:
- On day 1 there were tree decorations.
- On day 2, players were to find two large candy canes – that was a bigger deal.
- On day 3, it was enough to play 3 games with a friend (the friend does not have to be your real life friend, just in Fortnite) You received the snowball for the next challenge.
- On day 4, players had to throw this snowball.
- On day 5, you had to fly through golden rings – with a plane. Quite spectacular.
- On day 6, you should find goose nests in Fortnite – a typical search task, for which we provided a map.
- On day 7, there was a particularly cool reward, a grumpy-looking pet – that can even dab.
- On day 8, you had to grab all sorts of weapons.
- On day 9, you had to find Christmas trees and dance in front of them.
- On day 10, you should perform tricks in a vehicle, so with the Quadcrasher.
- On day 11, it was a fairly easy challenge, where you had to keep thanking the bus driver.
- On day 12, you had to destroy snowflake decorations.
- On day 13, everything was themed “New Year’s Eve, disco, and partying”.
- On day 14, there was the glider.
Currently, the normal weekly challenges are still active:
