In Fortnite a weapon has been taken out of the vault again after an update. However, it has been changed in such a way that it now enjoys more advantages than the previous model. We show you what has changed and what makes the “new” shotgun so powerful now.
What kind of weapon is this? This is a modified version of the heavy shotgun. The pump was introduced in Chapter 1 and was later put into the vault. Items in the vault no longer appear in the game until Epic brings them back.
Before its change, you fired shotgun shells and rained down high damage at a not-so-fast fire rate. Now Epic after Patch 19.20 has made some adjustments that make this weapon the ultimate shotgun alternative.
Shotgun resembles a sniper without a scope
The reddit user MikinzuLegends is amazed at how the changes impact the game. He grabbed a common rarity variant and immediately fired at motionless players.
The damage dealt was enormous for a shotgun. Not only that, the range was comparable to that of a regular rifle. Skilled hands can definitely bring great havoc with this weapon and even outperform sniper shooters.
What has changed? The shotgun fires not pellets, but bolts that can cover long distances. Visually the red dot sight has been removed from the predecessor model. In addition, the weapon has the following stats:
- You can find the weapon in chests, on the ground, supply drops, and from sharks.
- The fire rate is 1.3 seconds.
- Damage of a common version is 81, headshots are 142, and reload time is 4.8 seconds.
- Damage of a legendary version is 99, headshots are 173, and reload time is 3.9 seconds.
So, if you can handle this weapon, you will also do well against enemies from long distances.

What does the community say? Players on reddit point out that the weapon is definitely deadly, but requires skill. One user writes in a comment:

No, it’s a bit different as you have to focus completely and stand still, otherwise you fire like a sniper with a no scope. So even good players are forced to stand still until they can deal devastating damage.
