In the latest developer update, Epic discusses the current Solo Showdown mode, plans for this year’s E3, and the competitive future of Fortnite: Battle Royale. One thing is certain: it’s going to be exciting!
Solo mode is a test run: At the beginning of the now eleventh developer update, Epic first addressed the currently running Solo Showdown mode, where players can win prizes in the form of real-money currency, V-Bucks, for the first time.
Every player who can place in the Top 100 will be rewarded with V-Bucks. But all other participating players can also win something: Those who complete 50 matches will receive an exclusive spray.

In the context of the developer update, Epic employee K. L. Smith emphasized that the current mode is a test run and that players can expect various adjustments in the future.
Players have criticized that the Solo Showdown mode favors camping since the number of kills is insignificant for progress. It will be exciting to see how Epic will design future modes.
Epic promises many “familiar faces” at E3!
50 celebrities, 50 pro gamers at E3: K. L. Smith also addressed the upcoming weeks, especially E3. A Celebrity Pro-Am event is specifically announced. Epic promises some familiar faces.
The idea here, as we know from an earlier blog post, is that the “greatest athletes and entertainers in the world” will compete together with the “best Fortnite players on the planet”. They promise 50 “celebs” and 50 “pro gamers” for E3.

Smith did not elaborate on who exactly is meant by this, but it is expected that we will see familiar streamers at E3.

What does the future hold for competitive game modes? There will be further competitions – both online and offline! Much more seems to be what Epic does not want to reveal at this point.
However, new information on this topic is supposed to be released shortly, maybe already with the update next week?
What do you think Epic will announce in the near future?
