With a teaser released by Epic, the developers of Fortnite: Battle Royale prepare players for groundbreaking innovations. The map of Fortnite will undergo extensive revisions.
Although no exact date was mentioned, the cat is out of the bag – Fortnite’s map will undergo extensive changes. A completely new city will be integrated, and other areas will be comprehensively revised.
The map of Fortnite: Battle Royale has been suffering for some time because the western part is relatively barren and therefore poorly visited. Epic aims to change this.

Changes to the Landscape
Even though no specific date is known, the update is expected to be released next week between January 15th and January 21st.
Players can look forward to more interesting starting points and more pronounced landscapes. The swamp is expected to feel swampier, and the mountains more mountainous. The landscapes and locations on the map should feel more unique.
Especially with the houses, the current version has many repetitions. Here, Epic wants to bring more variety.

In addition, a new city will be coming. This was already known; only the timing was unclear. The city is expected to be located south of Loot Lake.
Improvements will also come, which Lead System Designer Eric Williamson does not specifically address in the teaser.
The Christmas Trees Disappear – Along with Them the Treasure Chests
Many players wished for the large Christmas trees to remain permanently in the game. Up to three treasure chests could be found under these trees. However, Epic is putting a stop to this wish.
Eric Williamson justifies this with the new city and the other improvements that the map will offer in the future. With the new update, there will be enough places with plenty of loot that will quickly make you forget about the Christmas trees.
