A new mode is active in Fortnite: Battle Royale and ensures constantly legendary weapons. Sounds fantastic? It is!
Epic brings variety! At regular intervals, the makers of Fortnite introduce new modes in the battle royale mode. Until Monday, March 5th, you can play the new mode “Pure Gold”. That’s unfortunate, we are inclined to say – because the mode is really fun!
This is how the “Pure Gold” mode works
All weapons you can find on the map are of legendary rarity. All of them. You will only see other colors on traps, grenades, and healing items.
The lack of weapons of other rarities brings a distinctly positive change to Fortnite – there are no shotguns or pump guns. Hunting rifles, revolvers, and standard pistols are also excluded, just like submachine guns.
Instead, you will be overwhelmed with legendary SCAR assault rifles, silenced pistols, and hand cannons. Sniper rifles and heavy weapons are still rare but also legendary and deal significant damage.
“Pure Gold” – when it doesn’t matter where you land
The loot on the ground is also guaranteed to be legendary. In terms of support items, you will find traps and jump pads much more frequently, and the drinking jugs are also abundant.
The big advantage: It doesn’t matter where you land, everything is legendary. You are guaranteed to find a legendary assault rifle or another weapon of the highest rarity.
So you don’t have to focus on big cities but can also score well at the edge of the map.
Robert says: The best mode that Epic has brought to the battle royale part of Fortnite so far. How refreshing a break from pump guns and shotguns is only becomes apparent when no one has access to these weapons anymore.
Focusing on the right landing places is also secondary in this game variant. Everywhere shines golden.. Even though the distribution of the weapons could still be improved (mainly assault rifles, pistols, and hand cannons were found) the mode is incredibly fun.
Since this game variant is largely populated by solo players, I even overlook the fact that Epic has once again designed “Pure Gold” for the team mode. However, with so many random players, there are also realistic chances of victory for duos. Give it a try – it’s worth it!
