As Epic shares in a Reddit post, the new update 3.5.2 for Fortnite: Battle Royale will make changes to the weapon switch speed. Players will have to say goodbye to the Remote Control Rocket for now – it will be permanently removed from the game. There are also news about the 50vs50 mode.
The delay in weapon switching that Epic introduced with patch 3.5 will be partially reverted. Specifically, the delay will be removed for weapons that do not benefit from a quick weapon switch – Sniper Rifles and the Crossbow!
After the update, only the following weapons will have a time penalty after switching:
- Shotguns (Epic does not elaborate here – it likely refers to all representatives of this weapon category, namely shotguns, pump guns, and heavy shotguns)
- Revolvers and hand cannons
- Rocket Launchers
For all other weapons, you can now switch freely.

What about switching from the build menu to the weapon menu? Will there still be a significant delay before weapons are ready to use? – Short answer: Yes. The long answer is that it will only apply to the weapons mentioned above.
Epic also provides a justification for this. If there is no delay when switching between build mode and weapons, this could be overridden with a simple macro (quick switch weapon -> build mode -> weapon). This must be prevented.
Furthermore, Epic announced that they want to improve the weapon equip animations in the future. Currently, you can shoot faster than the weapon animation suggests.

Bug when shooting from cover
It may happen that you have to move significantly further out of cover to not demolish your own fort while shooting. This is a bug that accidentally made its way into the game with update 3.5.
The error will be fixed with update 3.5.2.

Bye Bye Remote Control Rocket
With the last update, a bug crept in, making it unavoidable to temporarily remove the Remote Control Rocket from the game. Since then, the community has been ablaze with assurances that the game is significantly better without the Guided Missiles.
And Epic responds to this feedback – the Remote Control Rocket is going to the so-called Vault. There, items are stored that are kept under wraps and need to be fundamentally revised before their comeback.
The Remote Control Rocket thus joins an illustrious list of weapons and items that were removed from the game, such as the Smoke Grenade, the Standard Submachine Guns, the Ceiling Zappers, or the trimmed version of the Jump Pads.

It is not excluded that the Remote Control Rocket will find its way back into the game – but in a changed form.
What about the re-release of the 50vs50 mode?
As Epic already mentioned last week, the re-release of the 50vs50 mode will come in the week of 16.04. – 20.04. Presumably on Wednesday or Thursday the mode will be unlocked. It has been fundamentally revised compared to the first iteration.

When is update 3.5.2 coming?
Definitely still this week (16.04. – 20.04.). Following the (rather unreliable) schedule from Epic, the patch should be rolled out on Wednesday or Thursday. Whether the update will come with server maintenance is still unknown.
Are you looking forward to the update?
