The comet, which has been looming over the Fortnite: Battle Royale map like a sword of Damocles for weeks now, has already become iconic. It seems to grow larger every week. Recently, the first outbursts of the comet can now be observed as they burn up in the atmosphere.
Do they now finally announce the end of the Tilted Towers? This fan theory is popular, but unproven. Data miners have found hints that the comet could simply herald a new mode for the upcoming Season 4.
However, everything could also turn out differently – as popular as the comet is in the community, Epic’s silence on the matter is even more legendary.

The comet impact also calls the community’s comedians to action. One Redditor suggests that the comet is nothing more than a gigantic shotgun that, well, causes damage to the Tilted Towers:
Others speculate that the comet could also miss the Tilted Towers due to the bloom mechanics. Either way – something will happen.
Today’s server maintenance as preparation for the big impact?
Today, on April 19th, a server maintenance is taking place. Will it herald the end of the Tilted Towers? We will only know more after the maintenance. However, the comet is likely to impact at the latest next week – signaling the end of Season 3.
So far, Epic has not provided any details about the new Season 4, but interesting scenarios can be played out regarding a comet impact. Will dinosaurs come? Although that would not fit chronologically, it would thematically. Medieval scenario speculations are also plausible.
Robert says: Even though the theory that the Tilted Towers will fall is very popular – I don’t believe it. It is very unlikely that Epic will completely destroy a city that has been painstakingly integrated into the game. Instead, new locations should be created to curb the popularity of the Tilted Towers and better distribute the players.
This would be significantly more sensible than robbing your own game of content. The theory that this is merely a new mode or that the new Season 4 is thematically initiated is much more likely!
Either way – today after maintenance or at the latest by the end of Season 3, we will be wiser!
