Fortnite is getting crazier with every update. Thanks to a new trap, you can now launch yourself high into the air, allowing you to glide again. This enables completely new tactics.
Fortnite: Battle Royale, the PvP mode of Fortnite, initially resembled the big genre giant PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Like in PUBG, your heroes parachuted onto a deserted island full of weapons and fought until only one remained.
Due to the similarity to PUBG, there was even trouble between the two development studios. But by now, Fortnite seems to have forged its own path. While PUBG focuses on realism, Fortnite clearly goes in the opposite direction, becoming more and more silly and crazy.
After rocket rides and shooting bushes, kamikaze airstrikes are now coming!
The cool silliness in Fortnite: Battle Royale has a tradition:
- For Halloween, the developers introduced a pumpkin rocket into the game, which players could ride over the map with good timing.
- With another new item, you could disguise yourself as a bush and set up epic ambushes.
The latest trick from the developers at Epic Games is now the new Launch Pad. It is actually a trap that you first have to find and build as a rare drop. With the Launch Pad, you can catapult yourself (or enemies) into the air. So high that you can deploy your glider again, just like at the beginning of the game!
Death from above!
This enables completely new tactics! You can sneak in from above into seemingly impregnable fortresses and take out unsuspecting foes. Or you can fly over long distances and surprise seemingly secure snipers in their hideouts.
