Fortnite: Battle Royale (PS4, XBoxOne, PC) faced some issues last week. As Epic has now announced, all players will be compensated for the downtime – regardless of whether they prefer to play Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode or the Save the World PvE mode. We present the compensation.
After 14 hours of maintenance, the last update was finally implemented in Fortnite – and immediately brought the next issues. Players were unable to access the servers, and later there were also issues with team creation, which had to be temporarily disabled.
Many players wished for compensation for the lost time when they had to engage with their friends or relatives instead. As Epic has now announced, there will be compensation – but don’t expect too much!
Compensation for the Battle Pass, seasonal Gold for the PvE mode
Specifically, all players – regardless of whether they only play the Battle Royale mode or the PvE mode – will receive compensation. The following will be credited to player accounts by Epic:
- 20 Battle Pass stars for progress in the Battle Royale mode (equivalent to 2 tiers) and
- 1,600 seasonal Gold, which can be spent in the Event Store in the PvE mode.
So whoever has not yet completed their Battle Pass will likely get closer to the Black Knight, which can be earned at the maximum level of 70.
When will players receive the compensation? After the update of the game to version 2.4.0, all players will automatically receive the compensation. The update 2.4.0 has already been announced in the game and will also bring the Minigun among other things!
Robert says: A nice gesture from Epic, even if some players might be disappointed that it wasn’t “more”. However, one should not forget that at least the Battle Royale mode is free – compensation for that is therefore not a given.
