High FPS (Frames per Second) in Fortnite can ensure that weapons fire faster. The proof is provided by the streamer DrLupo in the video. Epic has already announced that they will respond to the issue.
What is it about? The streamer DrLupo has discovered in tests in Fortnite that the FPS have a direct influence on the firing rate of weapons. In some cases, higher FPS lead to the weapon firing faster. This would give players an advantage in Fortnite.
FPS means Frames per Second and refers to the number of images shown per second.
How FPS Affects Firing Rate in Fortnite
The streamer DrLupo is a well-known face on Twitch.TV. He has nearly 3 million followers there to watch his Fortnite content. He recently shared a video on Twitter showing how FPS affects the firing speed of weapons.
What affects what? Recently it was found out in PUBG that FPS change the weapons. Accordingly, some weapons can fire faster on a system with 100 FPS than at 60 FPS. We will show you how this works here:
Lupo tested in Fortnite whether there are the same issues as in PUBG. After all, both games run on the same engine (Unreal Engine 4).

How was the testing done? Lupo took an SMG and shot at a wall. He tested it at 300 FPS and at 30 FPS. He filmed both and played the videos side by side. In the test with the higher FPS, it is evident that the weapon emptied the magazine faster.
You can see the comparison in the image shown above. About 3-4 bullets were still in the magazine at 30 FPS, while the video at 300 FPS shows an empty magazine at that time. This was fired off faster.
How significant is this? Lupo says that this difference is probably not decisive in most situations. But that this issue could significantly affect competitive matches is difficult.
Because it can decide between victory and defeat.
What does EPIC say about the problem with FPS and firing rate?
On Twitter, the official Fortnite account responded to the video. They wrote:
“Hey Lupo! Thanks for showing us this. We are aware of the issue and are working on a fix for it.”
In the ice challenge, high FPS are not as important. Players are currently looking for golden monsters:
