In Fortnite there are countless cosmetic items that look either stylish, plain, or even brutal. The latter is now limited in your collection, as you soon won’t be able to wear and use them in every mode.
Items now have age restrictions: With the latest update 27.10 in Fortnite not only new items have been added to the data but also a curious change that Fortnite has not had before. Your cosmetic items, or some of them, receive an age rating of 6 or 12 and therefore, if declared, cannot be used in every mode.
Although some items may seem disturbing to younger visitors of the battle royale and are therefore blocked, the concept does not seem reasonable. Fortnite is a game that is characterized by its violence and heated gunfights. Therefore, limiting items is already met with incomprehension from the community.
Players label considerate change as ridiculous
What do players say about the change? The Fortnite fans who were on X (formerly Twitter) during downtime are not at all enthusiastic about the change. They do not understand the point of the feature, as Fortnite promotes new weapons and action-packed battles.
Blocking the precious cosmetic items of fans out of nowhere raises eyebrows:
- “Bro, the game itself is literally a shooter and there is an age limit for cosmetics. What kind of nonsense is that?” – says fitzy
- “Restriction of weapon cosmetics in a game full of weapons, just when you thought Epic’s brilliance had reached its peak” – mocks RealMonster02
- “This is ridiculous, the ENTIRE GAME has weapons!” – adds EnksGaming
- “In a battle royale game where we use weapons, that’s a bit hysterical.” – states FayeScarlet
What age limits are there now for items? So far, we have been able to discover age limits from 6 to 12. This includes not only back bling but also pickaxes, skins, gliders, and even emotes being marked and limited.
The good thing is that in the “Battle Royale” mode you can use and apply all your items as you wish. Apparently, at first glance, only modes in creative mode affected, which are declared for ages 6 and older. It remains to be seen if Fortnite will keep this change or if it will be overturned by the voices of the community.
