The dog “Gunner” was only in the shop for a few hours at Fortnite, until the developers apologized and removed him. Now there are refunds: Players will receive more than they originally paid.
What kind of skin was that? On August 14, the new Gunner skin appeared in the Daily Shop at Fortnite. The small dog, displayed on the back of the players, was sold for 1,000 V-Bucks. That’s about 10 €.
We should have never released him
Epic Games apologizes: On the evening of August 14, Fortnite officially released a statement on social channels. They stated:
“We should not have released the Gunner pet and apologize for having done so. In the coming days, all purchases of Gunner will be refunded. Players will receive a full refund of 1,000 V-Bucks and an additional 200 V-Bucks back. The pet will be removed from the locker.”
Why is the dog being taken back? Shortly after its release, some players noticed that the new dog Gunner bears a strong resemblance to a dog that is already in the game. Wuffel (or in English Bonesy). Wuffel was part of the Battle Pass in Season 6.

Epic Games states that they will never offer a skin from a Battle Pass for individual purchase in the shop.
The problem for some players was that the dogs looked so similar. There was fear that Epic Games would easily change the colors of skins from the Battle Pass in the future to then offer them in the shop and keep their word.
This dog caused a lot of stress in the Fortnite community.
As noted by Reddit user Alphasilverhawk, it is the first time that an item offered in the shop has been completely removed from the game.
In the comments on Reddit, players praise how quickly the developers addressed this issue. However, they point out that the mechs should also be looked at more closely. Many players are still unhappy with them despite the changes in Patch 10.10 of Fortnite.
