The new Season 5 of Fortnite finally has an official start date. However, it will start later than initially thought. This is to give you more time to complete all tasks in Season 4.
When does Season 5 come? When the new Season 4 started in Fortnite, there were already 10 weekly challenges visible in the menu. If you calculated 10 weeks into the future from the start date, you would arrive at July 9, 2018, as the end point of Season 4.
3 extra days: However, it was unclear for a long time if this was correct. But Epic has now finally announced the official start date. It is not on July 9, but 3 days later, on July 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM our time.
According to Epic, you should have more time to complete the last challenges and unlock the visitor or the upgrades for the skins Carbide and Omega.
Bonus XP Weekend is coming!
Double XP on the weekend! So that everyone can still achieve success in Season 4, Epic is planning a bonus XP weekend. Here are the following details:
- Start: June 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM our time
- End: July 2, 2018 at 09:00 AM our time.
During this time, you can additionally earn 100 percent more experience points on top of the usual bonuses from the Battle Pass and through teammates. Ideal to earn a few more Battle Pass tiers or to earn your season level for the add-ons to the skins Carbide and Omega. Have fun and good hunting!
What’s coming in Season 5?
The rocket is likely the key: The developers have not revealed the theme of Season 5 yet. There will likely be teasers from Epic shortly before July 12, similar to what happened in Season 3.
Meanwhile, fans are eagerly speculating about Season 5 and the ominous rocket, which is believed to end Season 4 and kick off Season 5. At least one theory about the rocket launch is currently considered plausible, but conflicts with the start date of Season 5.
