Fortnite: Battle Royale is getting a new weapon this week: the Quad Rocket Launcher is set to come in a new update. At least on paper, this weapon sounds even more powerful than the legendary remote-controlled rockets. Will the new rocket launcher disrupt the meta?
The first new weapon of Season 6: The new Season 6 is only a few days old, and Epic is already bringing a new gun!
Already this ongoing week, Epic will introduce a new weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale, which has been lurking in the game files for months but is only now being officially introduced.
Presumably, the new Quad Rocket Launcher will be integrated into the game on Wednesday, 10th October, with an appropriate update. And according to the in-game message, a powerful weapon is awaiting us.
The new Quad Rocket Launcher – The Building Nightmare?
Four rockets launched one after the other: If you are already annoyed by the normal rocket launcher, you might not be excited about the new Quad Rocket Launcher. As the name suggests, the new Quadlauncher fires four rockets one after the other.
The wording of the in-game message raises questions: Translated, it means “Fires up to four rockets to deal area explosive damage.” The crucial detail here is the small word “up to.” This indicates that the four rockets are not fired simultaneously, but one after the other.
But how quickly will they be fired one after the other? Will it fire so quickly that your opponent won’t be able to build cover in time? The answer to this question will likely determine whether the new Quadlauncher becomes the new “Must Have” weapon for Fortnite: Battle Royale.
But not only the firing rate of the rocket launcher is interesting:
- What will the reload time be? Does each rocket need to be loaded individually?
- How many rockets can be carried? As the limit for normal rocket launchers is 12 rockets, this will likely apply here as well.
- How rare will the rocket launcher be? We will likely see both an epic and a legendary variant.
Will the Quad Rocket Launcher meet the same fate as the remote-controlled rocket? The remote-controlled rocket was removed shortly after its introduction, as it significantly altered game balance. Whether this will also apply to the new Quadlauncher remains to be seen.
However, it is certain that the new rocket launcher will obliterate enemy structures (and their occupants in the process) in no time. It will be exciting to see what tactics players come up with to counter the rocket launcher.
As a maximum of twelve rockets can be carried at once, the owner of the rocket launcher must also plan carefully about how to use his three volleys of four rockets. They will likely disappear faster than you would like.
