Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Switch & Xbox One) will soon be released on Android devices. There, you will likely have the same crossplay options as on the iOS version.
Mobile Fortnite offers full crossplay: Crossplay, that is, playing together with gamers on other platforms than your own, is important to the developers of Fortnite. Therefore, they also try to enable crossplay to every possible platform. This also applies to the mobile version of the shooter.
On iOS, there is already crossplay with all other platforms, even the PlayStation 4. Sony’s console is excluded from crossplay with the Switch and Xbox One, but it works with PC and mobile operating systems.
For the upcoming Android version of Fortnite, the developers therefore want the same crossplay options as on iOS.
Full crossplay for the Android release of Fortnite?
Currently, it is considered certain due to a previous announcement from Epic that Epic Games wants to apply the same crossplay rules for the Android version as for the iOS version. This would mean that you could play together on the Android phone with players who are gaming on an iPhone, a PC, a Mac, a PS4, or a Switch.
In addition, you will be able to use your existing Fortnite accounts. Your progress in the game will therefore remain intact.
No crossplay compulsory on mobile!
However, since consoles and PCs have unfair advantages due to controls, no one is forced into crossplay. If you don’t want that, you can avoid crossplay. You will then only enter pure mobile playlists and have nothing to fear.
No looting console or PC gamers on mobile: Conversely, players from consoles or PCs cannot join mobile matches on their own. So you don’t have to fear that an overpowered PC gamer will farm you on the mobile device.
When is Fortnite coming to Android? There is still no specific release date for Fortnite on Android known. However, it is expected to be released this summer.
