Fortnite has once again thrown many new skins into the game with Chapter 2 Season 8, one of which stands out in particular. We at MeinMMO show you how to customize the new cartoon fish skin and where to find all the current color bottles.
Which skin is meant? The new cartoon fish skin on the first page of the Battle Pass of Season 8. This skin is painted in black and white like in the 40s and can be recolored with color bottles.
Important Information about the New Color Bottles
What are color bottles? Color bottles are similar to the alien artifacts from Season 7. They are needed to create your newly customized cartoon fish skin. They allow you to unlock new colors for the skin, its guitar pick, the glider, but also for its back bling.
This gives you room for the wildest color combinations. For example, you can color the headgear, scarf, arms, legs, and many other areas of your skin.
But it’s not just colors that can be unlocked by collecting them. You can also mix other skin styles with this skin. This makes it possible to color yourself with the shades of a ghoul trooper or a bush ranger. This results in many variations and crazy color combinations.
Where can I find them? The color bottles can be collected everywhere on the map in packs of 3. Thanks to Fortnite.GG, we were able to create a map where you can see all the current color bottles. Your mini-map will show you the precise locations during the match.
This is the list of 21 color bottles:

Many skin variations still seem to be undiscovered. This suggests that more color bottles will be added during Season 8. We at MeinMMO will keep this article up to date so you don’t miss any bottles.
If the above map is not enough for you, we have a video from the YouTuber HarryNinetyFour.
In this video, he walks through each location of the new color bottles step-by-step and shows you how to best get to them.
How do I get rainbow ink? Collecting the bottles is one thing, but to obtain the separate skin colors, you need rainbow ink.
You can find these in any chest. Whether it’s the regular wooden chests, rare blue ones, or even cosmic chests. You just need to open boxes, and you automatically collect them.
How much does a skin variation cost? For each skin style, 10 drops are required. In total, you need 210 drops for all current styles. Since the season is still at the beginning, this amount can surely be achieved alongside.
Fortnite thus ensured greater accessibility to the respective resource. Considering how many cosmic chests were needed back in Season 7 to unlock all Kymera styles, it is a joy to see how accessible Epic Games has made this in this season.
