In Fortnite, since the start of the conflict between IO and the Seven, there has been a battle for dominance over the island. The Seven want to prevent IO from using a precious energy source for evil. Despite a dramatic story and many twists, players find all of this boring. They want the crazy Fortnite missions back.
What is happening in Fortnite right now? Players in Fortnite are currently fighting alongside the Seven to thwart the machinations of IO. They are fighting on the front lines and capturing locations that IO has claimed.
This reduces the influence of the imagined order on the new island. However, players are not interested in these serious battles. They would rather complete fun missions and quests instead of taking down terrorists.
Driving lessons with a banana are more exciting than battles
On Reddit, the user potatoinabeanie created a thread stating that driving lessons with Peely, the banana, are more interesting than the important battles between IO and the Seven.
He is not the only one who thinks this: Many players comment under potatoinabeanie’s post that they find the main story about reclaiming the island actually boring compared to the side missions.
In this regard, user RiddleEatsRainbow says the following about the thread: “Peely’s driving style is much more interesting than the constant power struggles of the Seven, to be honest.”
Despite a dramatic story with many twists and cool battles, players are obviously hardly engaged. They would rather have missions in the style of Fortnite. Absurd driving lessons with a banana are just part of it. However, when it gets serious, it becomes boring for many.
What could be the reason for this? Following the story of the Season 2 in Chapter 3, everything started relatively simply. Stealth missions in which players had to move from A to B and set up satellites and other espionage activities.
As the preparations were completed, the Seven began to finally confront IO. Players could participate in the battles to assist the Seven.
After each completed week, a stronghold fell, and this continued for weeks. It follows a boring pattern, without unpredictable twists that could bring excitement to the game.
So far, every battle has been won by the Seven. Players therefore also expect that the Seven will win these confrontations.
Although a major battle is being fought, there have been hardly any collateral damages so far – airships are even driven into the sea to prevent the map from being destroyed. All of this is something players do not find really exciting in the long run. Therefore, absurd banana missions in such a serious scenario are much more fun.
They lighten the mood and give the situation a crazy Fortnite style, and that’s exactly what players want.
