In Fortnite, Season 3 Chapter 2 should start soon, unless there is another delay. So far, all signs point to a water theme, but what could we expect in the new season? MeinMMO has summarized some things that Season 3 could introduce, so the wait is worth it.
What’s happening right now in Fortnite: The end of Season 2 is slowly approaching. Season 3 is now scheduled to start on June 17, 2020, after being delayed for the third time.
But before that, a live event is expected on Monday, June 15. According to hints, the event could be huge and even make changes to the map.
Things that could await you in Season 3
In Season 3 Chapter 2, everything seems to revolve around the water theme. There are already some hints supporting this. Let’s take a look at what Season 3 could bring.
Map Changes
A leak from Playstation seems to confirm what everyone fears: a flooded map. Season 3 could therefore see a totally or largely flooded island.
If this happens, players might as well take out their floaties, as the new mode of transportation would presumably be swimming or even diving. MeinMMO author Eilyn Rapp has already thought about how it all might look.
New Modes of Transportation
The water theme brings additional possibilities to introduce new modes of transportation. So far, there are only motorboats that can be used in the water and helicopters for those of us who fly.
A poster found in Lazy Lake shows a shark that could serve as a means of transportation.
This could be used to dive down and reach the desired destination faster. Additionally, jet skis could be introduced to complement the motorboats. There are various possibilities for new vehicles, and we will soon see if we can try out new items.
Battle Pass with a Water Theme
With the start of a new season comes a new Battle Pass, through which you can unlock skins, emotes, and accessories. But what could a Battle Pass look like that revolves around the water theme?
A player created a fan concept that shows how a Battle Pass could look, perfectly fitting the theme:
In his concept, you can see a shark skin and even a ship captain. While the real Battle Pass will likely look different, this concept would certainly fit the theme.
A New Secret Skin
In Season 2 Chapter 2, we received the Marvel character Deadpool as the secret skin of the season. He accompanied us for a long time, and you had to complete some challenges to unlock him and his cosmetics.
This raises the suspicion that we could also get a special character as a secret skin for Season 3. If the theme of Season 3 is indeed water, there is one character that would fit perfectly: the superhero Aquaman!
Return of the “14 Days of Summer” Event
In Season 9, there was a summer event that started on June 25, 2019. The “14 Days of Summer” event lasted for 2 weeks and brought a lot of variety to the game. Here are some highlights:
- Daily a new summer skin or cosmetic available for purchase in the item shop
- Weapons that were retrieved from the vault
- Various new LTMs that changed daily
- Various challenges that could unlock rewards
Since Season 3 will now be the next summer season, it’s possible that we will get another such event that lasts a few weeks. We can be excited about that.
There are already some hints and theories about how Season 3 in Fortnite will play out and what we can expect. The water theme certainly leaves a lot of room for imagination and fantasies. But before Season 3 starts in a few weeks, there are still a few things you should do or try before Season 2 ends.
