The start of Season 5 in Fortnite: Battle Royale introduced a new currency into the game: Gold Bars. With these, you can unlock cool weapons. We show you tips on how to quickly collect the Bars.
What are Gold Bars? The Bars were introduced as a new currency in Season 5 – Chapter 2. Unlike V-Bucks, however, these can only be used in game rounds and unlock weapons instead of cosmetics.
The only way to get Gold Bars is to find and collect them in the game. You cannot buy them with real money. However, this can take longer, so we have tips for you on how to make it faster.
What do you need Gold Bars for? The new bounty characters accept Gold Bars as payment. The Bars can then be used for these items:
- Exotic weapons
- Upgrades
- Services: Bodyguards for protection
- Information
For an exotic weapon, you need 1,225 Gold Bars each. A high price for a weapon that you can only use in one round. Therefore, it is good if you can quickly accumulate a lot of Bars.
Collect Gold Bars faster
There are various ways to collect Gold Bars. We show you an overview of the things you should pay particular attention to if you want to acquire wealth in a shorter time.
How do you even get Gold Bars? There are various methods to obtain the coveted currency. Here’s how to find them:
- As a reward for successful bounty hunts
- Destruction of items on the map
- Elimination of players
- Searching chests and cash registers
- Challenges that reward you with Bars
Collect Bars in Team Rumble
What is this mode? In the Fortnite mode Team Rumble, 2 teams of 20 players compete against each other. The team that achieves the specified number of eliminations first wins.
In this mode, you are not directly eliminated, but can respawn on the map repeatedly.
Therefore, this mode is suitable: Gold Bars can hide in various places. So if you diligently destroy items with your pickaxe, you will find some Bars repeatedly. If you pay attention to these things in Team Rumble, you will quickly gather a large amount:
- Land at a location and destroy as many items as you can
- Search all chests and cash registers you find on your way
- Once the storm eliminates you, you go into battle
- Eliminate as many opponents as possible – don’t forget to pick up the Gold Bars they drop
If you focus on destroying many items and looting everything in the first half, you will already have a nice amount of Gold Bars. As a bonus, you can then grab the Bars that eliminated opponents drop.
Since you can respawn over and over again in Team Rumble, you also have no pressure and can take your time to collect the Gold pieces.
Accept various quests from NPCs
What does this mean? The start of Season 5 also brought NPC characters, who are spread across various locations on the map. If you talk to them, they can assign you quests.
You can either start bounty hunts or complete other tasks in the game. The reward for this is Gold Bars. There are various ways to earn this currency:
- Start a bounty hunt and eliminate the target person yourself – you get 70 Gold Bars (can be repeated in a round)
- Start the bounty hunt and wait for another player to eliminate the person – you get 35 Gold Bars
- Complete other tasks like gathering materials assigned to you – you also get 35 Gold Bars per task
If you want to collect as many Gold Bars as possible, you can repeat these steps multiple times in a round and focus only on that.
Search Gold Safes
What do you need to do? The “fastest” method to find Gold Bars is the safes on the map. If you find and search one of them, you get 100 Gold Bars per safe.
It would actually be the fastest and easiest method, but because it is so successful, it is also more difficult. The safes do not always spawn, even if you know the location. So if you want to go this route, you have to keep in mind that you won’t always be successful.

However, if you are lucky and find the safe at that location, you will be rewarded with a large amount. Therefore, a search for it can definitely be worthwhile.
