The streamer guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm was once one of the big names on Twitch. However, he now has a permanent ban there and instead streams on YouTube. But it seems to be significantly harder, as he has now explained.
Who is Dr Disrespect? Until 2020, Dr Disrespect was one of the most well-known streamers on Twitch alongside other big names like shroud and Ninja. He made a name for himself especially in the shooter genre – including PUBG, Call of Duty and Apex Legends.
With his red vest, 80s sunglasses and thick mustache, Dr Disrespect embodies a character, a role he slips into. As “the Doc,” he is known for his rather loud demeanor and extroverted nature, when he loudly bitches about his favorite games, uninstalls them and then comes back again.
In June 2020, Dr Disrespect suddenly disappeared from Twitch. His channel was banned and apparently permanently. To this day, there is an error message if you try to visit his Twitch channel.
Why the Doc was banned is not officially known. There are some hot rumors, but no confirmed information yet. However, for some time now you can watch him live on YouTube when he streams there. However, it seems that the Doc is not as pleased there as he was “at home” on Twitch.
Dr Disrespect complains: “They don’t even have to try”
This is what the Doc says: In his stream from July 26, Dr Disrespect talked about streamers on Twitch and how easy they have it. Specifically, he addressed his acquaintance TimTheTatman, who apparently often shows so-called “React Streams”.
In such a stream, the streamer watches something else and shows his live reaction on Twitch. The chat can then have fun or suffer with him over what is shown. A trend, that according to major streamers could lead to the death of Twitch. Dr Disrespect is certainly annoyed about this:
“This drives me crazy. You don’t even have to try on Twitch. Really, [TimTheTatman] has 50,000 people watching him while he watches other players play solo games and fail. […] If we were on Twitch right now, I would have 100,000 viewers.”

And how is it on YouTube? Immediately afterwards, Dr Disrespect explains that it is significantly harder on YouTube. He has to pay attention to all sorts of things, only to end up being behind games for children:
“I have to call my team, […] ask what today’s algorithm is, make thumbnails, set keywords and hashtags and still get buried under Roblox and Minecraft. We are pushed deep down into this wannabe community of live stream infrastructure.”
He points out that content like Roblox and Minecraft is often suggested by YouTube because they are trending strongly and apparently popular. Accordingly, they are favored by the “algorithm”, after all, they seem to be relevant or interesting topics.
Roblox is, in particular, a giant on YouTube. The friendly-looking building block game particularly appeals to children, who maintain contact with friends here and spend their time in dozens of worlds and games – or watch videos about them on YouTube. Roblox has grown rapidly in recent months:
Roblox has become a major social network for children since Corona – But these dangers lurk
