A user asked the developer in a comment on X (formerly Twitter) if he believes that the action game will be delayed again and possibly not appear until autumn 2026. The developer replied that Rockstar Games is likely very confident regarding the release date. They had the freedom to choose and decided on May 26, 2026.
If the release of GTA 6 is postponed again, Rockstar Games will make the final decision about 5 months in advance. Any rumors about a delay of GTA 6 that arise before December are merely “cloud chasing” – a desire for attention.
