The former Anthem head Aaryn Flynn commented in an interview about the difficult start of the game. In his opinion, the upcoming end of the fiscal year contributed to the problems of Anthem.
Who is it about? Aaryn Flynn worked at BioWare for 17 years in various positions before overseeing the launches of the Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and Star Wars: The Old Republic franchises as General Manager.
Flynn was also the original director of Anthem until he left BioWare at the end of July 2017. Casey Hudson took his place.

What does he say about Anthem? In an interview with Game Informer, Aaryn Flynn recently commented on the turbulent start of Anthem and the opinions of the press and players. For him, it is “surreal”.
Surreal is a good word for it. It’s difficult. But at the same time, I know they are working so hard [on Anthem]. Mixed feelings, surreal – those are all good words [for what I feel]… Fiscal years are fiscal years. You don’t have to try so hard to see what’s going on.

Even the insider report by Jason Schreier about the development of Anthem suggested that BioWare had no time left to delay the title. EA allegedly insisted that Anthem must be released within the fiscal year, which ended in March.

With the launch of Anthem, the responsibility shifted from BioWare Edmonton to BioWare Austin. Austin is responsible for post-launch content, the so-called live service.
