Brad Pitt has a small cameo in the superhero movie Deadpool 2. Instead of a salary, the actor only wanted a cup of coffee as payment.
The Deadpool films are known for not taking themselves too seriously and for providing numerous humorous moments. This includes the mini-appearance of the character Vanisher, played by Hollywood actor Brad Pitt.
In July 2018, main actor Ryan Reynolds and several cast members spoke to ET Online about the film and Vanisher’s special cameo.

Vanisher says nothing and is invisible
Brad Pitt plays Vanisher in Deadpool 2 as a member of the X-Force. His superhero power is to turn invisible.
Because the character is also a quiet type, his screen time is correspondingly short. As a viewer, you see and hear nothing from the Vanisher, with one exception.
In a brief death moment from an electric shock, the character becomes visible. Many must have been surprised when suddenly Hollywood star Brad Pitt appears for a moment.
As main actor Ryan Reynolds explained in an interview, that was one of the pitches to the studio that actually made it into the final version.
As payment, Brad Pitt asked for no money, as the main actor explained:
I was told he only wanted a cup of coffee, and I asked: ‘Like a franchise or just a single cup of coffee?’
And I was told just a single cup of coffee, which was really his way of saying: ‘I will do it for free.’
And that was totally solid and the nicest thing anyone could do.

Reynolds further explained why he was so excited about Brad Pitt’s agreement: ‘I just loved it because what could be more irresponsible than giving one of the biggest movie stars in the world a role that is completely wordless and invisible except for three moments?’ The actor added, ‘Yeah, that’s kind of great.’

Probably a friendship was the reason for the Hollywood actor’s generosity. In an interview with BBC Radio 1, Brad Pitt explained that he and the director of Deadpool 2, David Leitch, are old friends. Leitch had been Pitt’s stunt double in Fight Club until 2004.
Laughing, Brad Pitt commented on his role as Vanisher: ‘That’s the easiest thing I’ve ever done.’
