The first tests and reviews of For Honor have already been published. How does the game perform on Metacritic?
On February 14, Ubisoft’s For Honor was released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Since the publisher did not release review codes before the launch and the servers went online only shortly before the official launch, comprehensive reviews are currently scarce. Testers could only begin their work on 14.2.
Potential buyers who want to wait for the tests before opening their wallets will have to be more patient than with other games. However, there are already some early reviews on Metacritic, which collects the tests and reviews for For Honor.
The multiplayer is well received
At the current moment, there are three ratings from gaming sites on Metacritic, which are all good:
- Attack of the Fanboy – 9 out of 10
- Stevivor – 9 out of 10
- Cheat Code Central – 8 out of 10
Additionally, some major gaming sites have already provided an early conclusion – but they do not commit to a final rating yet:
GameSpot: 1v1 duels are fun and challenging. However, Gamespot criticizes how to eliminate the adds (fighters) in Domination – namely by mindlessly hammering on the keys.
IGN: The combat system of For Honor is praised; it is described as the most tactically complete and flexible version of a melee combat that the author has ever experienced.
PC Gamer praises the brutality and weight of the battles, although they can also feel cumbersome. For Honor is definitely an interesting game.
PCGamesN: For Honor is a solid piece of work by Ubisoft.
There are still few opinions on the single player, regarding the campaign. However, it is not great but rather prepares for the multiplayer.
What do the users say?
On Metacritic, users can also submit their ratings. Cross-platform, hundreds of ratings have already been collected:
- PS4 – User Score: 7.2
- PC – User Score: 7.0
- Xbox One – User Score: 7.8
For Honor is thus largely received positively among the player base. However, it will take a few days and weeks to see whether For Honor can keep players in the long term and establish itself as a multiplayer game. Therefore, we ask you here: How do you rate For Honor at this early stage?
