For Honor has its first sponsored professional player – a Twitch streamer and former waiter.
For Honor is still a young online game that wants to establish itself in eSports. The first step was taken by the eSports organization “NRG Esports”, by signing the Twitch streamer Ricky ‘iSkys’ Colon, who has already demonstrated exceptional skills in For Honor.
NRG competes in various online games such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone, Smash, or Overwatch. According to Brett Lautenbach, the president of NRG, Ricky is an incredible competitor with an incredible personality. They have noticed the growth of the “For Honor” community and see him as a champion of the game and the competitive scene. Therefore, NRG is excited that he is now joining this family.
This video made iSkys famous
iSkys gained greater recognition with a single video that exploded on Reddit, receiving over 8000 upvotes in no time. In it, he showed a fight against a Raider, a Warden, and a Valkyrie, and “proved” that you can win fights even when outnumbered. He himself faced as a Warden:
Before his “For Honor” career, Ricky Colon was a waiter and chef. Now he quit the job to launch a full-time streaming career for NRG Esports. He himself says it feels great to join the NRG team as a gamer with so much energy.
iSkys believes that especially the game modes 4v4 Dominion and 4v4 Elimination could succeed as competitive game modes – if For Honor manages to establish itself in eSports at all. Duels and Brawls might also find their place in this scene, but he expects less hype around these modes.
