In For Honor, Ubisoft discusses upcoming measures against AFK players and leavers. Additionally, gear and gear stats adjustments are on the horizon.
Days after the launch of For Honor, initial complaints about the endgame appeared in the forums, gradually growing louder: The high-level armor pieces were deemed too powerful and led to extremely unbalanced battles.
Especially the revenge builds are under criticism: With the right gear, you only have to block a few hits before you can trigger the revenge boost. According to dissatisfied players, this has nothing to do with the actual combat system; when revenge kicks in every few seconds – even in 1v1 matches – it’s no fun.
Balance adjustments are planned
In a recent livestream, the developers acknowledged that some of the gear stats are more powerful than they should be. They have started the work of rebalancing the gear and gear stats. However, internal tests are necessary before the changes can go live.
Furthermore, in the future, the equipment stats will be considered in matchmaking. When these changes will be implemented is still unknown. Ubisoft mentions “soon”.
AFK detection and penalties for leavers
In the fight against AFK players, the developers plan to implement better “detection protocols” – that is, better ways to identify players who seek to gain unfair advantages and impair the experience of others. The new AFK detection should be able to recognize whether players are actually playing or not. We have already reported on the penalties that AFK farmers receive.
In addition to AFK detection, the developers are introducing penalties for leavers. So if you leave a match early in For Honor, there will be consequences, although details are not yet available. The penalties for leavers will only be implemented once the AFK detection is functioning properly.
Just a few hours ago, an “Easy AntiCheat” update was deployed, which included better detection of key scripts (autoblock cheats).
