In For Honor, the first season of the faction war has come to an end. The winners are determined, and the rewards are out.
The faction war is meant to reflect the global and cross-platform battle between the factions of Knights, Vikings, and Samurai. After each match, you receive war resources that you can use to defend your territories or to attack enemy lands.
Whoever holds the most territories at the end of a round, which lasts two weeks, wins that round.
Today, on April 26th, the first season of the faction war came to an end in the morning hours. One season consists of 5 rounds. The fifth round was decided today.
The first season goes to the Vikings! – Faction War
So far, the Vikings have won the rounds of the “Faction War” twice, and the Samurai also twice. The fifth round ended very closely: The Knights and the Vikings each held 22 territories, while the Samurai only had 16. Since the Vikings had the highest percentage of war resources deployed per faction, they were able to win this round.
This means for the first season: The Vikings won three of the five rounds and are thus in first place. The Samurai are in second place and the Knights in third.
Congratulations to the Vikings!
The rewards of the first season of the faction war – Rewards
Ubisoft announced that there would be significant rewards for the winners of a faction war season. At the end of a round, there were so far 3 loot boxes for the winners, 2 boxes for the second place, and 1 box for the third place.
These are the rewards at the end of the season:
- Place: 5 loot boxes, a golden outline for the emblems, and helmet decorations
- Place: 4 loot boxes and a silver outline for the emblems
- Place: 3 loot boxes and a bronze outline for the emblems
Note: Some users complain that they did not receive any rewards. Additionally, the number of boxes seems to vary.

When will new heroes and new content arrive?
According to the “Year 1” plan, the seasons of the faction war represent the cornerstones for the release of new content. For each new season there should be:
- two new heroes,
- two new maps,
- new rewards
- and new weapons and armors.
So far, no fresh content has been announced. Via Twitter, it was reported that more information on the content will follow in the coming weeks. New heroes and additional content will be released during Season 2.
Currently, For Honor is in a “season break”. Those who own the season pass will receive 7 days of early access to the new heroes.
