Dedicated servers are set to enhance your gaming experience in For Honor in the future. Ubisoft’s roadmap illustrates further changes, including game modes and new classes.
Ubisoft now explains what the future of For Honor looks like in a blog post. Among the biggest changes are the dedicated servers that players have long desired. Ubisoft also plans two further seasons, which will introduce new heroes, maps, and game modes in For Honor.
Dedicated Servers for For Honor – When Will They Arrive?
The transition to dedicated servers aims to improve connections to For Honor and ensure more stable matches. Particularly, 4v4 matches have frequently suffered from stability issues in the past. After careful consideration, the team has now opted for dedicated server technology.
This technology is intended to be future-proof and to solve many problems. Games will no longer be paused when someone leaves the session – the well-known NAT issues should also be a thing of the past.
There is no exact release date for the dedicated servers yet. The developers explain that this is no easy task and will take some time.
Until the dedicated servers arrive, the existing system will be further improved. Part of the online team for For Honor is working on enhancing the current network structure. This should stabilize matches until the new server technology is implemented.
For Honor: New Seasons Starting in August and November
Two more seasons are planned for For Honor. One starts in August, the other in November. In each season, you can expect two new heroes and two new maps. What else is in store for you in the seasons can be found on the roadmap:
The training mode is structured similarly to an arena. The original plan was to improve and expand the current training mode in the game. However, it has now transformed into a completely different mode that is structured much like an arena.
This setup is designed to give every player the opportunity to train a hero, try out situations, and practice movements. Beginners and advanced players should be able to train better than before in this mode.
The new 4v4 PvP mode is still a secret. Ubisoft cannot say much about the new PvP mode yet. It is only known that this mode is in planning – details are not being disclosed at this time. “It will be a completely different gaming experience than before.”
