In For Honor, you find yourself in the middle of a war between knights, vikings, and samurai. You take on the role of 12 playable characters – the heroes. These are powerful elite fighters who can plow through foot soldiers with their weapon and engage in brutal duels with other heroes.

All 12 heroes come with unique abilities and cater to specific playstyles. Each character is meant to feel unique and have advantages and disadvantages in certain situations.
The playable heroes can be divided into three factions: The Knights, the Vikings, and the Samurai. Each faction has four hero classes.
The Knights aim to protect their homeland against invading forces in For Honor. They have succeeded in doing so for centuries – thanks to their great heroes. However, they now face two adversaries, the Vikings and the Samurai, whom they must stop.
Wardens (The Wardens)
The Wardens are powerful fighters who enter battle with their longsword and plate armor. They are meant to embody the highest virtues of chivalry.
Playstyle: Versatile (balanced in attack and defense)
Special Abilities: Unblockable shoulder charge, strong interrupt attacks, and throws.

Conquerors (The Conquerors)
The Conquerors were once prisoners and conscripted recruits forced to fight in the front lines of an army. Those who survived received comprehensive combat training and are now heavily armored warriors wielding a mace.
Playstyle: Defensive
Special Abilities: Highly efficient defensive mode, interrupt attacks through normal blocking, possess shield attacks that can’t be blocked.
