For Honor received a major and important update. This introduced a new but familiar warrior and revised the combat system. Discussions are already taking place in the community.
What does the update bring? Two big things are included. First is the Warmonger as the new fighter. This warrior particularly focuses on light attacks. This Warmonger is Astrea, the heir of Apollyon, who was the final boss of the story campaign.
Additionally, an update to the combat system is included. The changes affect all fighters in the game. Generally, the update ensures that combat actions are executed faster over the network. There are also adjustments to damage.
Also included in the update are balancing adjustments, bug fixes, and improvements to the online gameplay. The patch is part of the major changes planned for For Honor in 2020.
A New Heroine
What can the new warrior do? The Warmonger fights on the side of the Blackstone Legion with a Flamberge, using the dark power known as “Corruption”.

- Faster combat actions

- Light attacks now have a frame disadvantage to prevent “spamming” light attacks.
- Heavy finishing attacks now have a frame advantage to incentivize finishing chains.
- Stamina penalties have been removed.
What do players think of the update? There is a heated debate about this update. The update has disrupted the balancing, which not everyone likes.
The new Warmonger is considered overpowered, which is a problem since players can buy her for money or for steel. Basically, the opinion is that players can now purchase a very powerful hero.

- MrGrippz says in the official forum: “I don’t understand this update at all. Some feats needed nerfs, but you messed up a lot. Perks needed buffs, not nerfs. This is a step in the wrong direction… a step backward.”
- Ordoman123 laments the gameplay on console: “Everything feels so slow, even the light attacks. I play an Orochi and he is now so slow […] an unnecessary update.”
- J2skarz explains: “It’s a bad idea to build an entire character around the feat mechanic, which has now been poorly implemented in the most popular game mode Dominion. Otherwise, the new hero is fine. But this patch has killed all heroes with unique damage mechanics.”
How do the developers react? The team has heard the players’ feedback and announced a patch for August 13 that addresses the criticism. In particular, the issues with stamina and the new damage will be addressed. The team states that further feedback will be taken into account for an additional patch.
However, there is no mention of the Warmonger in the patch notes. Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether the players will be appeased by the new update.

The mood within the For Honor community is currently quite heated, and the developers need to make some adjustments to the last update.
