How did the toaster come about? In June 2020, donations were collected for a good cause during the Gaming Community Expo. Bungie promised that if at least $777,777.77 were raised, they would build and offer a dedicated Destiny-themed toaster.
In the end, over $800,000 was raised, which was donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. This was not the first time that Destiny fans donated a lot of money for a good cause.
What else is there about toasters in Destiny? Why did Bungie choose a toaster? This is probably due to a popular weapon from the game, the Jötunn. This weapon, which is particularly feared in PvP, actually looks like a death toaster. Therefore, toaster jokes are popular in the Destiny community.

What can the toaster do? First of all, the toaster actually looks a bit like the Jötunn, including the hand symbol on the side. Otherwise, the toaster can do one thing mainly: toast bread! As a special feature, the toaster burns the characteristic Destiny icon onto every piece of toast.
In addition to the toaster, you will receive a practical sandwich holder that also bears the toaster’s logo.
The toaster has a maximum power output of 700 watts and has a type F Schuko plug in Europe. You will also receive an exclusive ingame emblem in the shape of a toast.
When will the toaster be released? According to the Bungie Store, the toaster is expected to be released between December 2021 and January 2022. It can also be pre-ordered in Europe and delivered at the specified time.
How much does the toaster cost? Those who absolutely want the Destiny toaster will have to dig deep into their pockets. The device costs 87.99 euros.
As cool as the idea of a Destiny toaster is, the content for the game itself looks problematic. There is currently not much going on and this is noticeable for the upcoming season. Season 15 could become a real chore due to the anticipated content drought.
