Mount collectors in the retail version of World of Warcraft will soon have to play Classic. Because only then will there be a new mount.
One of the most beautiful side activities in World of Warcraft is expanding one’s collection. More and more mounts to show off or admire in your garrison. However, to get a new, exclusive mount, you will have to soon play Mists of Pandaria Classic – because only then will you get the mount in The War Within.

What has been announced? Blizzard has announced the launch of “Mists of Pandaria Classic” for July 21, 2025. However, there is already the opportunity to play as a Pandaren and experience the starting area. This is also an incentive for retail fans, as they can get a new mount upon completing the Pandaren starting area.
What kind of mount is it? It concerns Shaohao’s Wisdom Snake. This is a green (jade-colored) variant of the coveted mount “Astral Cloud Serpent”, which has a very rare drop from the boss Elegon in the raid “Mogu’shan Vaults”. Anyone who hasn’t had luck so far or finds the green version much prettier should plan an evening in July to earn the mount.
When is it possible? The event runs from July 1st to July 30th – so almost the entire month of July. You have plenty of time to take one or two evenings off from modern WoW to earn yourself a new mount.
How long does it take? The starting area of the Pandaren is not particularly long. For most players, this area should be completed in about 1 to 2 hours, allowing them to embark on their journey into the rest of the world afterwards. Once you have left the starting island (and checked in with the leader of your faction), the quest is considered completed, and the mount will be unlocked.
