One of the greatest mysteries of Destiny 2 will likely remain unsolved forever. New findings push the legendary 15th Wish further away.
This is the mystery: Forsaken brought Destiny players the raid “Last Wish”. Here players found a hidden room that actually granted wishes.
As befits a shooter, one does not politely request a genie with “I wish for”, but rather blasts their wishes into a wall with gunfire. If one hits the right symbols in the correct order, they skip raid phases, receive items, or activate fun bonus effects.
There are 15 of these wishes – this is revealed by a triumph in the game itself. However, since 2018, players have only found 14 combinations through hints in cutscenes or in the game world. The elusive 15th Wish has become the greatest mystery of Destiny 2 over the last 2 years.
This is now the disappointing finding: Players have spared no effort to find the 15th Wish. And even now, after the release of the Beyond Light expansion, they do not give up their search. However, a new finding has now virtually stifled their efforts in the bud:
The 15th Wish has been removed from the database by Bungie.
This means that the legitimacy of the 2-year-long ghost hunt is now gone. The corresponding triumph for the 15th Wish can no longer be found in the lore tab with the other 14 wishes.
That’s why the players still have hope of finding the 15th Wish
A real “Sherlock Holmes” community has formed in Destiny that cracks every difficult puzzle. And Bungie never tires of presenting players with incredibly tough puzzles either in the game itself or in our real world.
The disappointment of the puzzle solvers and explorers is now great in light of the wasted efforts.
The players do not give up: However, the community is also known for not giving up. For 2 reasons, there is still hope that the 15th Wish will eventually be found:
- As resourceful Guardians have found out (via reddit), the triumph has not completely disappeared from the game data. During the restructuring through Beyond Light, it has become essentially not visible to all who have not yet achieved it – in other words, to everyone. Has Bungie left a backdoor open here?
- In the major expansion in autumn 2021, players will encounter Savathûn. The witch plays an important role in the story of the Dreaming City, the “Last Wish” raid, and the currently unbroken curse.
It is therefore conceivable that the 15th Wish will only become relevant again at the end of 2021. After all, Bungie also introduced the Exo Stranger back in 2014, which made Guardians puzzle for 6 years and whose story was only truly continued now.
