New World was originally intended as an MMO with a strong focus on PvP. Meanwhile, PvP in the open world is optional, and with the dungeons and world events, new PvE elements have been introduced. What does PvP in New World offer? Basically, there are three activities where you can indulge your desire for PvP:
- The fortress wars in 50v50
- The outpost rush mode in 40v40
- PvP in the open world, which must be manually activated by all fighting players
While the wars and outpost rush run relatively fixed and regulated, anything can happen in open-world PvP.
For example, a group of 7 players wins a duel against 20 enemies, while a player alone cleverly kites 3 higher-level foes. There is also a fortress battle.

What happens in the video? In the first selected clip, a group of 7 players from the faction Covenant heads to a world event. They are all playing in the level range of 40+.
At the world event, they encounter a large gathering of players from the faction Marauders, who are also around level 40.
Due to the element of surprise and the fact that they distribute AoE effects organizedly on one point, they quickly eliminate more than 10 players. Subsequently, they defeat the fleeing foes in smaller duels.

What happens in the video? The second video is from YouTuber Kristofer, who presents and comments on three 1v1 duels.
He relies on a combination of rapier and ice gauntlet and manages to defeat his enemies in somewhat long and very intense fights. He also explains his combos and how he approached his opponents.

What happens in the clip? We see a level 26 player encounter 3 enemies of levels 28, 27, and 26.
He manages to slowly but surely wear down the enemies with DoTs (Damage over Time) through clever kiting and the use of axe and bow.
Helpful abilities include the backward jump with the bow to create distance between him and the enemies, and the Berserk stance with the axe, which saves him some health points. Lastly, the use of buff food and potions was crucial.

A complete war for fortresses in New World
What happens in the video? YouTuber Demone Kim has uploaded his first fortress battle on YouTube. In the video, you can follow a very intense battle while listening to the commands in the voice chat.
The battle is so good because the commander gives very clear and precise instructions.
This way, the attackers are unable to take the point B outside the fortress. Consequently, they cannot attack the gates and the fortress itself.
