In Path of Exile 2 the new season “Dawn of the Hunt” is not starting well. Now the European servers are also supposed to cause trouble.
How is the new season going so far? The new season of Path of Exile 2 “Dawn of the Hunt” is viewed in a bad light:
- First, technical difficulties prevented many fans from playing right at release
- Then the nerfs were heavily criticized and the first hotfixes were not enough to solve the problems
- Even a livestream from the developers with attempts at explanations did not go down well with fans
However, the new complaints this time are not directed against the developers’ decisions. Players are currently criticizing that the European servers of the ARPG are experiencing technical difficulties. There are reports of crashes, lags, and intermittently high pings.

“It has been unplayable for 2 days now”
How are players reacting to the problems? The server issues are causing frustration among fans. According to the players, only the servers in Europe are affected. Users share their experiences:
- User Spiritual-Emu-8431 describes his experience on Reddit: “I log in – ping jumps from 60-200-80-500-65 and starts over – I log out – can’t finish the [campaign] act.”
- Player crazypearce also talks about the problems on Reddit: “Every day there are multiple hours-long crashes with rollbacks. It’s chaos lol”.
Why are the server problems so annoying? Particularly bitter are the disconnections, because players lose items as a result. Items that were just lying on the ground before them simply disappear after logging back in. This is what Reddit user Cloud1us experienced: “I just killed a boss that dropped a Divine Orb. Got a disconnect 5 seconds later and lost it.” Especially when you have just cleared many enemies on a map and want to pick up the loot, it can be very frustrating.
Is there any help? While users complain on Reddit that nothing regarding the server issues was mentioned in the last livestream, some players seem to be using a workaround. They have started playing on the American servers. These are supposedly unaffected by the problems and, despite the higher ping, at least do not crash.
In addition, user Pretend-Ad-9552 explains on Reddit: “I play on US servers and haven’t had a disconnect in 3 days since I switched.” Whether it is worth dealing with the higher latency to avoid crashes is up to each individual to decide.
Even though the server problems annoy the players, the new patch at least brings in-game relief for four classes and no further nerfs. Whether the server issues will disappear with the patch is still unclear.
