What kind of map is this? Since December 7, 2021, you can see gameplay from players on the new “Caldera” map from CoD Warzone. Because Warzone is now taking a “Pacific” route.
Big streamers have already been able to play on the new map before you, while the first of you can start on the evening of December 8 at 6 PM. We summarize the first feedback on the gameplay videos for you.
Colors, UI, and weapons of Caldera are praised – Warzone Pacific
Where can you find gameplay? Figures from the eSports scene of Call of Duty have already shared gameplay from Caldera with their viewers. This includes pro player Swagg from the FAZE clan.
His video of his first round on the new Caldera map has already been viewed over half a million times within a day. Swagg himself explains in the video that movement still feels like it did in Modern Warfare and not in Vanguard. For him, this is a big plus, as he really likes the movement from MW.
This is what the viewers say: Under Swagg’s video, there are many positive comments about the Caldera map. Especially the colors are often discussed. “It’s good to know that the map doesn’t have depressing colors,” writes Mingi. User codegreen0909 adds, “The colors look so great, the [color] palette is fantastic. The weapons look OP, very fast TTK.”
User Zach Peck also likes the look: “I love the look of the map. More open areas, livelier colors, and better lighting. I can’t wait to play it tomorrow.”
Many users agree with Swagg’s comment about the MW movement. DB writes: “I am sooooo happy that the movement is the same as in the old WZ, instead of Vanguard.” Mohsei agrees and says: “I’m super happy that the movement hasn’t changed. That was my only real concern. The colors look a bit washed out, but I’m excited to see how the map plays.”
More gameplay: Shooter expert jackfrags has also had a closer look at the new Warzone map and highlighted some highlights in a video. The clip is being discussed on reddit:
The reddit users write:
- “At least from the look (so really the look), the update is really just a new map with new weapons. The interface, items, descriptions, and tooltips still look like they did in MW. Only the minimap has changed color when compared to the white/grey of MW. I kind of expected a complete overhaul of the interface and that the look would fit more with Vanguard. Not that it would be relevant or anything, I’m just surprised. However, it looks weird to me. The interface design was developed for a game in modern times and doesn’t really fit a WW2 game,” writes lolKhamul.
- “The first thing I noticed was the lack of interface spam,” writes Exxxtra_Dippp
