The two leaders of the first Sauercrowd raid, Falgan and HandOfBlood, have met on Twitch to prepare the framework for February 22, 2026. MeinMMO summarizes everything important for you.
When does the first raid of Sauercrowd start? The first raid of Sauercrowd in the Molten Core of WoW Classic Hardcore is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
How long is the first raid of Sauercrowd expected to last? At the guild meetings, Metashi announced that the first raid could last up to 7 or 8 hours (thus extending into the evening), but the two raid leaders Falgan and HandOfBlood have a somewhat more conservative plan.
Where do the infos come from? The two raid leaders Falgan and HandOfBlood have publicly discussed the preparation of the first raid of Sauercrowd. You can catch the entire conversation between them on the YouTube channel of Sieglinde.
They want to assess the mood in the raid after the first hours, for example after defeating Garr, whether to continue or not. HandOfBlood considers it rather unrealistic that Ragnaros will fall in the first raid. They definitely do not want to rush this kill and overwhelm the many WoW newcomers with too much min-maxing.
More important to the raid leaders is that they proceed well, but at the same time keep the atmosphere relaxed and good. Additionally, the two officials expect some breaks and delays.
What does the plan look like? The raid will first farm trash to advance a quest that is essential for clearing the runes in the Molten Core. Because only when all runes in the instance are cleared can the last two bosses of the raid be fought.
Once enough players have completed this quest, they will be teleported by ready Sauercrowd members to the corresponding quest giver. There they will then accept the follow-up quest, for which they must defeat certain bosses from the raid. Via warlock portal, they will return in front of the instance. This will repeat again once this quest has also been completed.
Otherwise, there could be additional breaks if the raid leadership decides to refresh some of the world buffs or to acquire an important buff for fire resistance at the nearby Blackrock Spire. So expect interruptions throughout Sunday.
No fixed substitute bench to support the second raid
With what roster will they go into the Molten Core? The roster of the first raid was announced as part of a draft. You can find the exact formation in this article:
Is there a substitute bench? HandOfBlood and Falgan have decided against establishing a fixed substitute bench. If there is a need for substitutes due to absences, they want to specifically contact potential candidates or issue a spontaneous call.
What about a second raid group? On February 19, 2026, Mowky, Syrenia and Laranas introduced the members of the second raid group in a whimsically staged draft round. They will head to the Molten Core on Monday, February 23, 2026, starting at 6 PM.
Could more raids follow? HandOfBlood currently believes that it could take several raid visits before Ragnaros is defeated. Furthermore, Hänno has already indicated several times in his streams that he would like to continue the Sauercrowd raid beyond this.
This can only work if enough streamers are found who remain committed to the project even after the first raid. Currently, the guild is quite large, and new characters reach the maximum level of 60 daily.
