It was recently confirmed that Riot Games is not working on an MMORPG for League of Legends (LoL). But a new game is coming, and the studio is now looking for employees for this.
A cool little game is coming
What happened? Katie Chironis from Riot Games is looking for employees for a new game project on Twitter. Specifically, “artists” with experience in Photoshop, Maya, and 3DS Max are being sought. Additionally, experience with Adobe Animate, AfterEffects, Houdini, and Fume FX is preferred.
What is known about this project? According to Katie Chironis, it is a “cool new game” that is not LoL. It is a project that will be managed by a small team.
Interestingly, the sought employee must have experience in launching a new IP. This means that Riot Games is working on a new brand.
Additionally, a well-known engine is expected to be used, with employees having experience in Unity and Unreal being sought. Apparently, the decision on which engine will power the game has not yet been made.

How far along is the game? The statement that the new employee should have accompanied a game from planning to release indicates that Riot’s new project is still in a very early development phase.
What do the players think? The Twitter post has led to some speculation. Many still wish for an MMORPG from Riot Games, even though this has been denied and does not fit the description of a “little game.”
There was speculation that it could be an online card game in the style of Hearthstone, but the idea was received with skepticism. After all, there are already many games of this type in a highly competitive market.
