First gameplay footage of Borderlands 3 is circulating. It is unclear whether this was a planned Easter egg or a mistake by Gearbox just before the reveal. The hint on how to find the gameplay was hidden in an official YouTube video from Borderlands 3.
Where does the gameplay come from? Gearbox has introduced a new feature that allows players to earn loot in Borderlands 3 by watching Twitch diligently. This feature was presented in a short YouTube video. This YouTube video is therefore official and was nicely uploaded to the Borderlands 3 YouTube channel.
At one point in the video, an absurdly long name appears: “xfvkhjrvufoqpn3qwvmggipsd.“
This was probably the name of a Twitch account. A user looked at this account on Twitch, it says on reddit, and found a clip.
This clip shows gameplay from Borderlands 3. It is about 26 seconds long.
Although the video was quickly deleted on Twitch, there are now mirrors (via streamable) circulating that show the gameplay.
Why are we seeing this already? It is not clear whether this was a mistake or if Borderlands 3 is hiding an Easter egg here to further hype.

What does the clip show? The actual clip shows an opened chest with some weapons:
- there is a green weapon
- a green grenade
- and a gray weapon in a second box
In the background, Claptrap is chattering. He presents it as if this were currently a TV show and viewers have the chance to win every loot they are currently seeing.
The interface of Borderlands 3 can be seen and some weapons are recognized and you can see how the stats are displayed.
Apparently, this is a quest (could be a tutorial quest) in which players are supposed to loot a weapon depot.
What happens next? On May 1, the gameplay is supposed to be officially shown at a big event. First, Gearbox wants to present Borderlands 3 itself, then streamers from around the world will get to take control.
Leya from MeinMMO will be on site and streaming the gameplay on MAX, the joint Twitch channel of MeinMMO, GameStar, and GamePro.
