The FiNN LMG arrived as an exciting and crazy weapon in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone – because this thing is basically 3 weapons in one. MeinMMO shows you the stats of the chainsaw-wielding beast and suggests a few strong setups.
What kind of weapon is this? The FiNN LMG is a new light machine gun in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone, reminiscent of the real firearm “Stoner 96” from the American weapons manufacturer “Knight’s Armament Company”.
In CoD, it was introduced with the “Season 5 Reloaded” update and goes straight in the mix with the best weapons in Warzone. Although one might have to ask, “Which version of it?” Because the LMG offers you 3 weapons in one:
- The standard version – High stability, average damage
- A contrasting version – High damage and fire rate, loses effectiveness at range
- The chainsaw – A pure hip-fire modification
MeinMMO has looked at all 3 variants and presents you here the stats and setups with which you can benefit from the advantages of the different modifications.
The FiNN LMG offers 3 playstyles
What are the stats like? The range and damage stats depend on the barrel you choose. You can either select “standard” barrels or the “contrasting” pieces. The standard barrel gives you average stats, while the contrasting barrel significantly increases the fire rate.
To help you assess the stats, here are a few comparisons of the two FiNN models with the popular M4A1 weapon and the LMG Bruen Mk9:

Time to aim (ADS-Time)

The stats are entirely without any enhancing attachments (except for the Bruen’s ADS) and particularly the TTK of the FiNN looks fantastic. However, there is a small catch: The FiNN comes without a headshot multiplier. Even if you hit your enemy in the head, the damage stats remain the same as shown here in the overview. Bruen and M4A1, on the other hand, cause more damage with headshots.
Additionally, there is a slight firing delay. Unlike the M4A1, the FiNN comes with what’s called an “Open Bolt Delay” – this is a short firing delay and is common for LMGs in CoD MW. It takes 67 milliseconds from the time you pull the trigger for the weapon to fire. It sounds negligible, but it can increase the TTK values of the LMGs by a good 10 – 15 %.

How does the device perform? All 3 variants of the weapon perform nicely in their own way:
- The standard version shines with stability and precision – this weapon provides you with safety and easy hits.
- With a contrasting barrel it reminds you of the M13 – the high fire rate can be well controlled, and only at long distances does it become challenging to keep it on target.
- The chainsaw is a hip-fire showcase and can bring you a lot of fun, especially if you enjoy Run&Gun – just keep firing and see what happens.
What feels a bit strange, however, are the missing headshots and the low bullet speed. The rewarding feeling of a landed headshot is exchanged for the relaxing knowledge that torso hits are enough for maximum damage with this weapon.
Moreover, the FiNN LMG takes its own path when it comes to bullet speed. With the contrasting barrels, you notice that the bullets sometimes arrive much later than with other LMGs or assault rifles. This gives the weapon its own unique and strange feeling of gameplay, but after a while, it hardly bothers you. The “FTAC VC-8 Harrier” barrel reduces speed too much – you should keep your distance from it. The same applies to the CT ammunition attachments: stick with NATO rounds.
FiNN Setup 1 – The all-around setup for Warzone
- Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
- Barrel: XRK Long Contrast or XRK Long Advantage
- Laser: Tactical Laser
- Scope: VLK 3.0x Scope
- Underbarrel: Commando or Ranger
What can the setup do? You can play the FiNN in two ways as an all-around rifle:
- Take the standard barrel “Advantage” for a nicely stable weapon with moderate damage
- Attach the contrasting barrel and you will have disadvantages in close and long-range combat, but will be almost unbeatable at medium range
Both versions provide good performance at all distances. The standard barrel corresponds more to the typical all-around rifle of Warzone. As with the Grau 5.56, the TTK is rather average, but due to the high accuracy, it’s easier to hit your target than with some other weapons.
With the contrasting barrel, you play the daredevil. This thing annihilates your enemies at close and medium range but requires some skill when the enemy is farther away. In close combat, your time to aim is also quite poor. However, at the critical medium distance in Warzone, around 20 – 60 meters, this thing is a powerhouse – light hits combined with high damage.
Choose your underbarrels according to your preferences. The Commando grip reduces weapon sway, while the Ranger grip helps mitigate vertical recoil. Here are more details about the underbarrels.
FiNN Setup 2 – Contrasting for Run&Gun in Multiplayer
- Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
- Barrel: Factory Contrast
- Laser: Tactical Laser
- Stock: No Stock
- Ammunition: 5.56 NATO 100-round belt
What can the setup do? A strong variant for players who enjoy running quickly across multiplayer maps and often attacking enemies from the side. Laser, stock, and barrel allow for competitive ADS time and keep the FiNN in line with fast assault rifles.
You can even prefer the LMG over a submachine gun, as it offers a significant advantage over close-combat specialists: its enormous magazine. If you encounter an unprepared squad of freshly spawned enemies while flanking, you need not worry that your bullets won’t suffice for everyone.
However, avoid the tempting Harrier barrel, as it would shorten your ADS time. The contrasting FiNN has a slight problem with bullet speed, and the projectiles take forever to reach the enemy with this barrel. This not only annoys but also gives you a considerable disadvantage when trying to hit targets.
FiNN Setup 3 – The chainsaw as a hip-fire monster
- Muzzle: Compensator
- Barrel: XRK Pro Twist Contrast
- Laser: Tactical Laser
- Stock: XRK Chainsaw
- Ammunition: 5.56 NATO 100-round belt
What can the setup do? This is the chainsaw! With the stock, you can create a gun that only fires from the hip. Although you can aim a bit, which slightly decreases your spread, it feels more like your soldier leans forward a bit to see the target better – but you do not aim down sights. Because of the special way this weapon is held, it’s called the “Chainsaw”.
A very similar modification already existed in Call of Duty: Ghosts, and many fans are celebrating the unexpected return of this crazy firearm. Because tearing holes in enemy flanks as a hip-fire soldier is a very special way to enjoy Call of Duty. There is also a strong hip-fire setup for the MP7.
Use the combination of tactical laser and compensator with the “Chainsaw”. XclusiveAce tested several combinations and found that this mix works best for the stability of the weapon. With the contrasting barrel, you increase the damage, improve the hip-fire behavior of the weapon, and slightly increase the range. To top it off, attach the larger magazine for an extra load of fire readiness.
Advantages and disadvantages of the FiNN LMG
The FiNN LMG is a weapon with character that leaves a strong impression. Thanks to its crazy attachments, you can play it like a specialist at almost any distance and be successful.
It ranks among the 3 best LMGs in Warzone and even in multiplayer, the combination of stability and flexibility is not to be underestimated. However, be careful with attachments on the contrasting versions and do not reduce bullet speed too much (avoid Harrier barrel / CT rounds). Otherwise, this thing has absolute favorite weapon potential, even though the lack of headshots is a small drawback.
