Diablo 4 has had a long and rocky road since its release, paved with much criticism from the community. Now, with the release of Season 10, the ARPG looks better, as many fans praise the changes that Blizzard has implemented over the months.
What has changed? A lot, as Blizzard has tinkered with various aspects of the ARPG since the release of Diablo 4. Mainly, there are many smaller changes that have accumulated over 2 years and provide a new gaming experience. The changes include:
- The skip of the class quest, which appears from level 15
- Updates to skills and items
- Changes to the Hell hordes
- Whisper Dungeons will be displayed on your seals
- and many more
For the Reddit user zirax1000, it is the changes that provide him with a more positive gaming experience, and he is not alone in this opinion.
Diablo 4 follows the same path as its predecessor
What do fans say about the ARPG? LittleGrogg also commented on Reddit, agreeing with zirax1000’s post. He believes that changing the class quest was a good idea. Dry-Type-3603 additionally mentions that he took a very long break after Season 3 and returned for Season 9. For him, Diablo 4 offers a completely new gaming experience thanks to the mentioned changes.
However, not everyone in the thread feels positive. Many players believe that every season Blizzard releases is essentially the same. There is a lack of fundamental changes and fresh concepts for the seasons, so they don’t all feel the same.
GilbeastZ also thinks that many changes need to be made that go beyond just quality of life adjustments. This includes adjustments to the Paragon system, implementation of new mechanics suitable for the season, new skill trees, and much more.
What do Diablo 4 and its predecessor have in common? Anyone who knows Diablo 3 will know the journey the game has gone through to be the ARPG that many praise today. The release was accompanied by significant dissatisfaction from fans until improvements were seen with the “Reaper of Souls” expansion.
One might think that Diablo 4 is following the same path as its predecessor, learning from its mistakes post-release and only achieving a state that many find optimal and enjoyable through many updates years later.
It remains to be seen what changes Blizzard still has in store for Diablo 4, but the current quality of life changes are positively perceived in the community, significantly altering the game already.
