On July 20, Season 1 started in Diablo 4, and it has not only brought us 32 new gems but also a new boss. To find “Echo of Varshan,” you need to perform a few steps first, because: You need a very specific Invoker.
The door to Echo of Varshan
What do I need to do to find Varshan? To find Varshan, you must first complete the new questline in Season 1. There, you will receive the Invoker of Varshan from Cormond, as well as a recipe to craft it.
How do I use the Invoker of Varshan? With the new Invoker, you will go to World Tier 1 or 2 into a dungeon of Malevolence and complete it. In some dungeons, you will find a locked door to a secret room where you can summon Varshan.
Behind this door, in the secret room, there is a growth similar to the pustules that you already know from the dungeons. If you have the Invoker of Varshan in your inventory and interact with the pustule in the secret room, Echo of Varshan will appear.
If you defeat Varshan, you will receive an angry heart that fits into any socket and a recipe for another Invoker.
Varshan accompanies you into the endgame
What is this other Invoker? Varshan is also a topic in the endgame if you have defeated him at World Tier 1 or 2, because: If you defeat him, you will receive a recipe for a new Invoker. If you defeat him at World Tier 3, you will again receive a recipe for World Tier 4.
What recipes will I receive? The recipe that Varshan drops at World Tier 1 or 2 is for the “Foul Invoker of Varshan.” You can then craft it at Cormond’s workbench.
With the Foul Invoker of Varshan, you can summon Echo of Varshan again at World Tier 3 in a dungeon of Malevolence. If you defeat Varshan at World Tier 3, he drops another recipe. This time for a “Tormented Invoker of Varshan,” which you can craft and use at World Tier 4.
Do I need to be level 100 for Varshan? No. According to the developers, Echo of Varshan is level 60 at World Tier 3 and level 80 at World Tier 4 (via Twitter).
