In Pokémon GO, Team GO Rocket returns. In addition to the debut of Crypto-Palkia, the event brings many other strong contents.
What kind of event is this? Team GO Rocket returns as part of the Fashion Week: Takeover. The event starts on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 00:00 and runs until Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 20:00.
Along with some contents and bonuses that are regularly active in Rocket events, the event also introduces Crypto-Palkia, a new legendary Crypto-Pokémon, and some debuts of Crypto-Monsters.
Additionally, there awaits a completely new Pokémon and the return of a legendary monster from the 2nd generation.
Crypto-Palkia and other monsters in the event
What debuts are there in the event? The big highlight of the event is likely the debut of Crypto-Palkia. At the beginning of the event, you will receive a special research task, where you will get a Super Rocket Radar. You have until March 4, 2025, at 09:59 to challenge Giovanni and obtain the strong Dragon-Pokémon.
In addition to Palkia, there are also six more Crypto-Monsters that you can acquire for the first time at the start of the event. These are the following monsters:
- Crypto-Schwalbini
- Crypto-Serpifeu
- Crypto-Floink
- Crypto-Ottaro
- Crypto-Unratütox
- Crypto-Scoppel
Additionally, you can encounter Sproxi for the first time at the start of the event. The Pokémon from the 9th generation has the types Poison and Normal and with Affiti also has an evolution. You can obtain this monster by hatching 12 km eggs. With a bit of luck, you might even get it as a Shiny.
What other Pokémon are there in the event? On Sunday, January 19, 2025, there will also be an event within the event called Crypto Raid Day from 14:00 to 17:00. Here you can challenge Crypto-Ho-Oh and have an increased chance of obtaining it as a Shiny.
Additionally, during the Raid Day, you can teach Ho-Oh the Charged Move Sacred Fire if you use a Charged TM.
During Team GO Rocket’s takeover, you can also encounter the following Pokémon in raids:
1-Star Crypto Raids:
- Crypto-Nidoran♀*
- Crypto-Nidoran♂*
- Crypto-Karnimani
- Crypto-Trasla*
3-Star Crypto Raids:
- Crypto-Elektek
- Crypto-Magmar
- Crypto-Woingenau
The Pokémon marked with a * can also be caught in their Shiny forms if you are lucky.

What bonuses are there in the event? In addition to a relatively large number of new Crypto-Pokémon, there are also the following bonuses in the event:
- Team GO Rocket appears in balloons and at PokéStops more frequently than usual
- The Charged Move “Frustration” can be forgotten with a Charged TM
- Crypto Raids can be completed with Remote Raid Passes
- Snapshot surprises with a costumed Glibunkel
Field researches: If you complete the event-related field research tasks, you can receive additional mysterious parts as well as Instant and Charged TMs as rewards.
Collector challenge: There will also be a collector challenge during this event. This revolves around catching Pokémon and rewards you with Stardust and an encounter with Unratütox.
PokéStop showcases: You can also participate in showcases within the takeover with suitable event Pokémon and receive various rewards.
