Many of you can’t wait to finally play Lost Ark. The Europe release of the new MMORPG was postponed to early 2022 some time ago and was originally supposed to be released this year. Now there is still something to play with the 2021 Beta, and there are now details about it.
Here are the latest updates: On the late evening of October 18, the “Lost Ark” Twitter account posted the latest entry of the monthly developer update. This mainly concerns the Closed Beta, which takes place in November.
The post also announces that there will be more new information before and during the Beta. This includes more precise information about the payment model of Lost Ark.
This is particularly exciting, as Lost Ark has so far been communicated as a Free2Play title. It remains to be seen whether the payment model will change. But moving on from speculation to the confirmed innovations, there are quite a few.
What has been announced? The monthly developer update mainly revolves around the Beta. This is intended to test and improve technical systems. The developers emphasize this multiple times in the blog post (via playlostark.com).
The Closed Beta will also take place without NDA. This means, unlike the Alpha, that content may be shared and streamed, as well as screenshots and videos published. Amazon assures, however, that much can change before the launch and the videos should not be used as a final source.
The Beta is intended to allow players to test as much of Lost Ark as possible before the game is released in 2022. Therefore, many new contents will be included in the MMORPG that were missing in the Alpha.
Beta runs from November 4 to 11, goes up to level 55
What’s in the Beta now? Lost Ark has announced the following things for the Beta:
- The Closed Beta has been extended by two days and will now take place from November 4 to November 11
- The maximum character level has been raised from 50 to 55, the expedition level to 100
- The 15th class, the Striker, will be playable for the first time in the Beta
- New prologues for the different classes
- The entire new continent Rohendel can be visited in the Beta
- New dungeons, including the Phantom Palace, can be played in the Beta
- Abyss and Chaos dungeons and Tier 2 Guardian Raids are also available
- You will receive a Power Pass that allows a character to start at level 50, provided you already have a character at level 50
- The cash shop will be opened for the first time. There, you may not spend real money yet, but you will receive 40,000 of the real money currency to experiment with
- Several technical innovations such as voice chat and a mode for color-blind players
- In a sub-tweet, the Lost Ark Twitter account also talks about new PvP modes (via twitter.com)

How can you participate? The Beta of Lost Ark is not open to everyone. You can sign up for it via the Lost Ark website. Then, with a bit of luck, you can participate in the tests. Currently, you need an Amazon account (via playlostark.com).
People who bought one of the Founders Packs have guaranteed access to the closed Beta. The cheapest package that provides this advantage costs €14.99.
The hype just won’t die down
How does the community react? Many fans were disappointed with the developers before gamescom 2021 that they had not been informed for a long time. Apparently, Amazon took this criticism to heart, as they have been sharing monthly updates about the MMORPG since then.
Thanks to this, their community appreciates them, as the hype is still alive on the Lost Ark Twitter page as if there had never been a problem. This is also due to the very active Twitter account that replies to nearly all fans.
What do the fans say? One searches in vain for negative comments under the update posts. There is an overwhelmingly positive mood in the Lost Ark community (via twitter.com).
- On Twitter, the user OmniPower writes: ‘This is really impressive! Thank you for listening to your community so much.’
- User GeneticColossus agrees: ‘Thank you for the update. The community is more than ready and excited to finally play Lost Ark. I just can’t wait for the Beta.’
- The streamer TowelTheTank also writes: ‘I’ve been waiting for Lost Ark for 5 or 6 years. I am so ready.’
- The excitement of user Bxkid7 is even at a peak: ‘I have never been more hyped about a game. It is one of the titles I’m looking forward to the most.’
- User xSoloGG writes: ‘Thanks for the update, reading it was enjoyable. I hope we get more of this every month.’
To keep the hype from dying down, the developers have created an official Discord for the Lost Ark community, where they can come together and discuss all relevant topics about the MMORPG. Amazon concludes the blog post with a request for feedback on the Beta and the changes.
What do you think of the announcement? Is the excitement also huge among you, or are you still a bit disappointed from the pre-gamescom period? Feel free to let us know in the comments here at MeinMMO.
If you can’t wait that long, you can theoretically also play on the Russian servers of Lost Ark. We’ll tell you how.
