According to Funcom, the re-release of The Secret World will be expanded with the subtitle “Legends” on April 4 with a story update. In Dawn of the Morninglight, it takes players to South Africa to infiltrate a cult. This is the long-awaited new content for the MMORPG.
The reboot of The Secret World will be expanded on April 4 with the story update Dawn of the Morninglight. The re-release of the horror MMORPG, Secret World Legends, was launched on July 31, 2017, as a free-to-play game on Steam. Even before that, players had been craving new content in the “old” Secret World.
Welcome to South Africa
After players in Secret World Legends have already had the chance to face myths, urban legends, and nightmares in New England, Egypt, Transylvania, and Tokyo, they are now heading to South Africa.
There, the territory of Morninglight is to be infiltrated, a cult that describes itself as “the fastest growing spiritual movement in history.” Players will need to rise through the ranks of the cult and uncover the dark truth behind Morninglight and their leader, Philip Marquard.
Of course, there will also be new creatures this time inspired by the old South African folklore.
The developers are completely enamored with the upcoming update and are sure that it will also be well received by the community.
“This is it, this is the next chapter that every Secret World player has been waiting for,” says Josh Mills, producer of Secret World Legends. “Since we stopped in Tokyo before the game went free-to-play, players wanted to know what happens next. The whole team is really excited to finally provide some answers to that, and bringing the story to a place like South Africa has been a lot of fun. This is Secret World Legends in a way you have never seen before.”
