The MMORPG Neverwinter clearly focuses on story, quests, and cooperative adventures. The PvP aspect has long been somewhat neglected. However, this is set to change with the upcoming update.
For many MMORPG fans, PvP is an important element. After all, it allows you to fight against a human who performs unexpected actions, making each fight particularly exciting. The PvE, with its more or less clever computer opponents, eventually becomes boring.
In Neverwinter, PvP is possible in specific areas and modes, but the development team has not focused on this area for a long time.
Finally, PvP fans get what they want
The latest adventure module Tomb of Annihilation also focused on the PvE aspect.
To respond to the requests of PvP fans for more and better content, Cryptic Studios has now announced a major update. “Swords of Chult” will address, among other things, PvP and aims to introduce a number of improvements.
This includes the removal of the toughness value, which previously acted as a kind of access barrier for PvP content. Toughness reduced control effects in combat, and those with low toughness on their gear had little chance in fights.
PvP is set to become fairer
Toughness will be replaced by a general buff that every PvP player receives upon entering a PvP zone. This is meant to ensure more fairness. However, this also brings about a balancing adjustment of the gear. Your item level will therefore be increased in a PvP zone, and you will find new PvP gear from the vendor. Control effects will now have diminishing returns in PvP and will only last 15 seconds. The PvP solo queue will become a permanent feature.
Additional bug fixes and adjustments will also be implemented to improve PvP in the MMORPG Neverwinter. The update “Swords of Chult” is set to be released on October 24 for PC. There is no release date yet for PS4 and Xbox One.
