Freddy Krueger’s rework is live. In Dead by Daylight, the lord of nightmares is finally a real threat again, spreading fear and terror.
For over a year, Freddy Krueger had to endure an existence in Dead by Daylight that simply did not do justice to his character. After a major nerf shortly after his release, he was by far the worst killer in the 4vs1 horror game. Now the developers have finally fulfilled their promise and reworked Freddy. In update 3.1.0, he has become a really solid killer!
What was changed about Freddy? Freddy’s biggest flaw has been removed. He no longer needs to put survivors to sleep before he can attack them – he can do that at any time now. At the same time, survivors passively fall asleep. In the dream world, they can become victims of Freddy’s new dream abilities, such as slow traps or “fake pallets” that have no benefit.
Freddy can also teleport to generators to quickly cover large distances. This especially facilitates patrolling the generators.
However, the survivors have also received more help. All failed skill checks can now wake up a player – in addition to a large clock that is placed on the map.
We have detailed the exact changes in this article.
What else has happened? In addition to Freddy’s rework, his map has also been redesigned. The Badham Preschool has been completely revamped and the various objects on the map repositioned to allow for more exciting gameplay.
At the same time, a total of 4 new variations of the map have been created, which will now appear in the rotation of the game. So there are new maps for veterans to explore, offering new paths and positions for generators.
For two weeks, until August 6, the chance of players coming to this new map is significantly increased.
Dedicated servers, however, were not brought by this patch – that is planned for a coming patch.
How do you like the “new” Freddy Krueger? Does he now make the game fun for you as a killer? Or is the rework also rubbish?
