The Elder Scrolls Online also gets a new chapter in 2021, but so far, little has been known about it. Now a tiny teaser has suddenly appeared, which is heating up the speculation in the community. Read here on MeinMMO what is in the new teaser and what it could mean.
What is seen in the teaser? The clip recently shown by Bethesda on Twitter lasts only a few seconds. You see a young, blonde elf lying dazed next to a book in ancient, moss-covered ruins amid a gloomy landscape.
The book begins to glow strangely yellow, and the elf seems visibly uncomfortable with it all.
Players suspect NPC from Orsinium and story in Cyrodiil
What does the community say? As soon as the teaser was out, fans eagerly speculated. Quickly, the identity of the elf was determined. According to most fans, it is the young wood elf Evelie Sharp-Arrow.
She was a prominent NPC in the DLC Orsinium. Back then, she came as an inexperienced caravan guard to the wild land of the Orcs and plays an important role in the story. At the end of Orsinium, she actually wanted to return to the forests of her home.
However, according to some fans, the setting seems more reminiscent of the lands of the Bretons or the still unknown regions of Cyrodiil, such as Skingard. User Arthur Anastopulos has the following theory:
Look it’s the Cyrodill Chapter located in Skingard with Mehrunes Dagos as the main Antagonist.

According to him, it’s about Daedra like Mehrunes Dagon and the book would be the “Mysterium Xarxes”, which already appeared in the game Oblivion.
User Dirhara suspects that the NPC Darien Gautier will return after he disappeared in Summerset. The glowing book is a good hint here.
A curious theory comes from User David McCandless. He believes that the new DLC takes place entirely within a book, as a story or in another dimension that is bound to the book.
It’s inside a book

Other users also repeatedly mention that it involves the Mage Guild, the Psijic Order, or the mad god Sheogorath. The latter has always dealt with mysterious books in the story.
When will we learn more? According to the tweet about the teaser, the complete teaser will be shown at the 2020 Game Awards and will provide more information and hints. This will take place from the night of Thursday, December 10 to Friday, December 11.
The fan theories about the teaser fit well with the already common theory that the next chapter of The Elder Scrolls Online is oriented towards the Elder-Scrolls game Oblivion. Then the setting would be Cyrodiil as well as the realms of the Daedra. You can find these and other plausible fan theories about the next chapter of ESO here with us on MeinMMO.
