If you do not visit your house in Final Fantasy XIV for too long, you risk losing it. The developers at Square Enix will soon re-enable the process of demolishing unused properties.
With patch 6.3, what Square Enix had discontinued with the Endwalker expansion will return: If a house receives no visits for too long, it will be automatically demolished.
This process was active until December 2021. “After careful consideration”, Square Enix will soon re-enable the demolition of unused properties. This is meant to create more space for other players, who want to purchase a property.
After 30 days, you will receive an email, then you must act quickly
If you are away for 30 days, your property is at risk. You will receive a notification via email and in the game under “Timers” it will be displayed in red that your house will soon be demolished if you do not visit it.
If you then return, everything is okay. For free company houses, it is sufficient for one member to visit the property; it does not have to be the leader.
When do the days start counting? The 30-day timer begins as soon as patch 6.3 comes to the MMORPG. At least for players who have visited their house in the last year, when the timer was switched off.
If you or your free company have not visited the property during this time, the timer continues where it left off on December 5, 2021. So, there may be very little time left to save the house.
When is the patch coming? Update 6.3 is expected to arrive in Final Fantasy XIV in early January. The developers have not yet announced a specific date.
