Final Fantasy XIV offers its players a wide selection of different combat jobs. But which of them are the most popular among you? Vote and help us create a ranking.
Here’s what it’s about: After over 7 years of runtime and 3 expansions, Final Fantasy XIV now has a whopping 17 different jobs that players can take into battle.
One of the unique features of FFXIV is that players can level up all classes and jobs to the maximum with a single character. They do not need to switch to their alternate characters or start new characters.
As a result, many of you often have a whole range of jobs at maximum level, some even all of them. But which ones do you enjoy playing the most?
Craftsmen, gatherers, and the special job Blue Mage are excluded from this survey.
These are the combat jobs available: Final Fantasy XIV divides the playable combat jobs into 5 different roles that they fulfill within the group. There are traditionally healers, tanks, and DPS. The DPS are further divided into magical and physical ranged attackers, as well as melee fighters.
To change jobs, one simply needs to equip a different type of weapon in FFXIV. So if you want to switch from Bard to Warrior, you put down your bow and instead take up a great axe. Here are the various jobs in FFXIV:
- Tanks are: Paladin (shield and sword), Warrior (axe), Dark Knight (great sword), and Gunbreaker (gunblade)
- Healers are: White Mage (staff), Scholar (book), and Astrologian (astro globe)
- Melee fighters are: Dragoon (spear), Monk (fists and claws), Ninja (daggers), and Samurai (katana)
- Mages are: Black Mage (staff), Summoner (book), and Red Mage (rapier)
- Ranged fighters are: Bard (bow), Machinist (gun), and Dancer (throwing weapons)
